Teens' summer sessions

dorianmatts

The Teens sessions will move outside from Easter, first sessions being Wednesday 27th April and run from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on the grass track at Kingshill school. NB there is now a 15-minute overlap with the Juniors, so please be careful on arrival not to impede their session. The Teen session will be located and designed so as to not create any potential collisions.

To participate in the sessions, children must be at least eleven years old, unless agreed with the Head Coach, and become members of the Club by completing the necessary membership process forms. In addition, there are commitments required from the children, including representing the club in two events: track, cross country or road/trail races; and from parents: e.g. safeguarding. These are included in the membership process.

Teens’ children may move up to the adult sessions before they are eighteen, subject to agreement from the Club coaches, if that is deemed appropriate for the Teenager.

There are no trials required to join, as the Club believes that sport should be for all and its importance in the development of the health and wellbeing of children, and to encourage that, the Club subsidises the costs of the Teen sessions. Membership fees pay for part of the facilities hire and equipment purchases.

Membership runs from the beginning of April and invoices will be sent out by our Membership officer. Members who have not yet been invoiced for 2021/22 year will also pay a small additional charge for the sessions received with the membership. All new membership fees must be paid by end of June to retain membership.

Membership fees for this 2022/23 year are £37, including £16 affiliation fee for England Athletics.

If anyone has difficulty in paying the membership fee, please let me know, as we would not want financial hardship to be a barrier for young people to participate in sport.

NB We currently have a short waiting list but are intending to increase the number of Teens allowable in the group through additional coaches and helpers.
