Hi, it's been a while since I posted about the opportunity to compete in Track and Field Events. Apologies for that.
Coming up in July are the C&CH organised weekly Midsummer Open (graded) meetings on Wednesday evenings at Blackridge track in Podsmead. A chance to try out something new? Links to the events entries are at C&CH webpage
Also, there's the monthly Running2Time events, also on Wednesday evenings at the Iffley road track in Oxford on 18th June, 16th July and 13th August. Entries to them at:
Slightly further afield, Leamington Cycling and Athletics Club have been holding monthly open meetings since May and the next two are on Tuesday 1st July and Tuesday 5th August. Details and links to the entry forms are on their webpage
For Junior members ie Under 13's C&CH are still hosting Low Key Opens at Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham. The second one was last Sunday, Father's Day, and I will inform parents of the third one when details and entry are made available to me.
A reminder that :
"The low key young athlete opens are a great chance for athletes to 'have a go' in a fun and friendly environment. Parents and carers help to run the competition and, as it is informal, can support their child throughout. Medals are on offer for the first 3 in each event for their age group too with the podium and announcements throughout, which helps a lot with confidence and self-esteem! "
I'm expecting to receive information on a few more events when they are publicised, e.g. Gloucester AC are likely to have one, as are Swindon Harriers, perhaps later in the summer / early Autumn.
