Cross Country for Juniors and Teens

The first cross-country season starts in two weeks time; it's starting earlier this year. I would encourage parents to enter their children in the events. We have done quite well in previous years with good performances and good turnouts. There are four events, starting in Yate, then Cirencester Park and Bath University all this calendar year and Cheltenham (Pittville Park) next year. There's a significant discount on entry fees in entering all four now. You can enter via here

There is a minimum age of 9 (on the day) so year 5 and 6 children can compete in the Under 11s. The date for age qualification is 31st August, so aligned with the school years.

The race order is that the first race is the U13s Boys and Girls race at 11:30, then the U11s at 12:05 (I think this is an error and should be nearer 11:45), as U15s are listed at 12:05, U17s (and probably U20s), and head coaches, run in the senior women's race at 12:55. Distances are 3k, 2k, 4.6k and 6.5k resp.

The first race is at Yate Outdoor Sports Centre and is fairly flat - the course is in the field, right by the athletics track. To enter just this event click here
