We're in the track and field season proper now and there are a number of events coming up for athletes / runners of various ages. Here's a selection of local / fairly local events that may be of interest to you.





Sunday 28th June at Prince of Wales stadium, Cheltenham : Low Key Open 3 - suitable for U10s to U14s only. An opportunity to try out track and field in a supportive environment.

From those to just starting their athletics to those who have much more life experiences!


Avon AA/Yate & District AC - Masters Open 2026 for women, 35 years plus, and men, 40 years plus only.

Wednesday 1st July at Blackridge Stadium, Podsmead, Gloucester : Mid-summer Open 1

There will be no Teens session that evening so all can enter. Obviously is also suitable for older Juniors, Senior and Master athletes.

NB There are three more MSOs on each Wednesday evening during July. We will target the last one as well for the Teens, on the 22nd, as there are suitable events again:



Tuesday 7th July at Edmonstone Stadium, Leamington Spa (lovely venue - I ran here last year). 18:30-21:00. Events are : 100m, 200m, 3000m, Shot Put and Javelin. Age limits : you must be an Under 14 plus, i.e 12 or older.

For our endurance runners, advance notice of a couple of events of interest:

1) the South West PB Series 5km on 29th July at Odd Down Cycle Circuit, Bath, BA2 2PR (which is technically not an athletics track!). Enter here.

2) the Gloucestershire 10km championships on 15th August, as part of the Edgar Nicholls 10,000m (also includes 10km county championships for five other counties and masters' category). Enter here
