The recent weather and the cool and wet conditions on the day made the course muddy, the sapping type, and slippery. I saw many runners wearing mud face masks and more. Thankfully all our runners stayed on their feet except Toby who fell to his knees on crossing the line!

We only had three runners in the first race, the Under 13’s boys and girls, and one of them, didn’t get beyond 600m due to feeling ill. However, Toby Conway and Georgia Hills got round; Toby placing well; Georgia happy to finish after being unwell recently.
We had two boys and two girls in the Under 11s. First home was our best XC runner this year, Ed Knight, who came 5th only missing out on a podium by a handful of seconds. Next was
Annabel Campbell just ahead of Alice Averies, renewing their rivalry again. Lastly, in his first XC league season, was Alex Willis, who only turned 9 this year, so was the ‘baby’ of the field. He look relaxed in his running which bodes well for the future (“too relaxed”, according to Team Captain dad, Aaron!).

In addition, Toby's brother, Ben, second claim for Cirencester AC, ran in the U15s and finished 7th in his race, giving him a top 10 in the series,
