Improvements in Juniors and Teens

Over the last year both the Juniors and Teens groups have grown significantly and this has created some challenges. The Club has provided significant funding for additional equipment, e.g. jump boxes, balance boards, more lights and additional Club vests. We have managed with much help from parents to achieve some great things : individuals' performances at race events and running sessions at two locations. There have been some highs, e.g. four Teens members helping at the Juniors; and lows, i.e, two accidents in the last couple of months. So, there are areas where we can improve to provide quality and safe sessions for all the Juniors and Teens. We have made some improvements in recent weeks : safe release procedure for the Juniors, and developed and shared a policy on underage sibling's participation.

Currently, we are looking at a few operational improvements:

  • use of a session booking system - more on that very soon

  • change in Safeguarding for Teens sessions

  • alternative venues for the winter sessions, October to March.

I will be posting more information on these as we develop the improvements, so parents have as much notice as possible, of any changes that will impact upon them and their children.

We have an open learning culture and so feel free to feedback your thoughts, concerns, suggestions to one of the coaching team. We value your input.
