Still relatively new to the running game, Gareth James had a cracking 2022, with steady improvements to his 10k PB. His continued hard work is paying off and he has started 2023 with yet another new best time.
This time Gareth completed the Chepstow Racecourse 10k. He had to grit his teeth on the inclines on both laps and, whilst he admits he went out a bit hard in the first kilometre, he felt it was overall his most controlled race to date. He was rightly delighted to dip just inside 49 minutes and is really looking forward to seeing what he can do at Bourton 10k in a few weeks time.

In parkrun news this week, another impressive run from Ollie Campbell at Coventry. This week he was 3rd overall in a field of over 700. Nea Sneddon-Jenkins had a change of scenery at the hilly Bath Skyline event. Also further afield this week was Rachel McAdam, not often spotted at a parkrun without Alan, this time at Melksham.
First club member to finish at Cirencester was Kate Sackett with an age graded performance of close to 80%. Close behind was Rachel Ranger, completing her 75th parkrun. Another fine run from Gordon Jones and a rare appearance from Gary Wood rounded things off. The club was also well represented amongst the vital volunteers.
Meanwhile, at Tetbury, David Moss ran a new course PB as he broke the 250 parkrun barrier. Paul and Sam Timms also enjoyed the out and back route there.
