parkrun Win for Joe

A short and sweet report this week with just parkrun results.

At Cirencester there was a splendid first place for Joe Stickney. At just 12 years old, Joe appears to be the youngest ever winner at Cirencester. His brother Robert was not too far behind with a top ten finish. Gareth James, lately testing himself over long distances, made a parkrun appearance for the first time in a year to see what his ultra legs could do! parkrun regulars Brendan, Pam, Gordon, Sam and Lorna followed the juniors home with Lorna described by one spectator as “the lady who is always smiling”. That’s what parkrun is all about.

Elsewhere, Tom Morgan had a good run at Milton Keynes, in a pretty big parkrun turnout of over 500. Luke Buck was at Didcot. After a bit of time out of running Luke had a bash at a parkrun to see what he could do. As it turned out, an excellent 20.55 and 7th place! At Chipping Norton Martin Croucher ran the event for the first time and Colin Tapley ran his best time there to date.

Jos Randall enjoyed the flat course at Edgbaston Reservoir. Meanwhile Rachel and Alan McAdam tried the Berkeley Green event around the disused power station and were a little bemused by the recorded soundtrack…….bagpipe music on one corner and the words “you are under surveillance” on repeat elsewhere.

And finally, Paul Timms was at the rather more exotic sounding Bishan parkrun in Singapore.
