Lots of London marathoners.....

This week saw the return of arguably one of the most iconic races and distances of all time, yes London marathon weekend was upon us and there were 10 CAC runners there this year with some very speedy times......

Chudley, Sophie - 03:03:39

Crawford, Leo - 03:21:12

Harris, Brian - 03:25:13

Hobbs, Mike - 03:12:54

Miller, Chris - 02:56:14

Musk, Jo - 03:21:13

Siebenaller, Harrie - 03:27:02

Wall, Nicholas - 04:24:02

Wilton, Charlotte - 03:29:43

Yeo, Jake - 04:15:10

Mike was running for a childhood cancer charity and managed to complete the marathon in 3.12.54. He reports that the wheels threatened to come off in the second half, but he was able to rally and get to the finish. It was a fantastic day as always and the atmosphere and support was amazing. More importantly, I raised over £2000 for my charity. A great effort Mike, well done!

Brian Harris said that for him everything thankfully went to plan - he had a surprisingly comfortable run to 23 miles then a brisk last 5k, nearer to the pace he hopes to run at Milton Keynes in a few weeks if his recovery goes well. His swift time of 3:25:13 has guaranteed him a good-for-age place for London next year!

Not much other racing to be had this week with the focus on London but there's always someone parkrunning and this week it was Ian Barrett who was second overall & joined by Gordon Jones at Lydiard, Ollie Campbell came in first at Beckton, Martin Croucher was in Wotton, Breicht won at Cirencester and was joined by Heath Forbes, Rachel Ranger, Jos Randall, Sophie Humphries, Kirsty Leggatte, Sam Timms and Gary Wood. Amanda Naylor was in Gloucester and Alan and Rachel McAdam were at Tetbury Goods Shed and also joined by James Hunton.
