EA PB Awards Achievers for 2025

Each summer we measure some performances on the track and field, so we can see how the Teens, in particular, are progressing. In addition to just looking at how the performanne level changes over time, we use a couple of established standards: the English Schools Sports Associations (ESAA) standards and the EA PB Awards standards. I have already reported on the ESAA achievements by Juniors and Teens.

For the PB Awards, there are no U11 standards, the lowest age group being Under 13s. This means few Juniors will meet these standards, without exceptional performances. So this report is primarily for the Teens, but I have included those Juniors’ performances which do meet the PB Awards standards, because they are noteworthy.

The PB Awards, like the ESAA standards, are on a 1-9 scale, but the bar is set quite high, so it’s quite an achievement to get even a Level 1 PB Award. Also, unlike ESAA standards, the PB Awards are differentiated on age category as well as gender, so there’s U13, U15, etc. levels for boys and girls. The distances for the events (and indeed weights for throws) are standard for each age group, so U13s don’t have a 300m or 400m  standard, whereas U15 do have a 300m, but not 400m, that distance only being raced at U17 level. U13 also have a 75m sprint distance in addition to 100m and 200m. Confused?

Here are the list of PB Award achievers by event. Unlike the ESAA awards, this is a much shorter list. We have only recorded the Quadkid events in 2025. Juniors are in bold italics.
