Cross Country for Teens and Juniors

The Gloucester AAA Cross country (XC) league starts in November and there are races for all age groups for children aged 8 years and above in :

  • Under 11s

  • Under 13s

  • Under 15s

  • Under 17s

for both female and male athletes (age category based on age at midnight 31st August).

The four events are held in Gloucestershire with the first being in our own Cirencester Park, hosted by local club, 'Running Somewhere Else'. The other three races will probably be on "flat courses" as Arlingham and Over are on the River Severn flood plain and Pittville Park course has some slopes but no real hills.

I would encourage all our eligible Juniors and all Teens to participate, as XC is a great training activity and our sessions over the next few weeks are building for this.

Gloucester AAA are encouraging participation in all four events by giving a large entry fee discount for doing so (less than price of three races), £12 for all four cf £5 per event. If you are interested in this option, please let me know, as we (the Club) are able to submit only one such "bulk purchase".
