Cross Country at Pittville Park

On a cool but sunny day, many of our Juniors and Teens took part in the last Glos XC league race at Pittville Park in Cheltenham.
For some it was yet another race in the series but for others their first time taking on the challenge of cross-country.
We had a good turnout for the Under 11s race (second race of the day):

In the Under 13s (first race) we had our three regulars:
Abi Cunningham Alice Averies and Ed Knight
Our Under 15s boys managed to get a team out again due to :
Bertie Andrews, Henry Woodfine and Toby Conway
In all the Junior races the boys and girls run together, which makes for bigger fields and a more challenging environment for the race scorers, and they missed George until we queried his absence!
I appear to have missed Digby crossing the water, but here's one (right) from Elysia, Jacob's mum, showing how deep the water is in places!
In the Seniors, James Thomas ran in the men's race and Dorian Matts in the ladies, U17s and MV65+ race.
A couple of our Under 11s found it a little too tough and DNF, but hopefully they will try again.
As it was the last league match, the overall individual and team results were recognised. One had to do at least three events to get a ranking.
So, in the Under 11s we had 5 boys get a placing, and two girls, as follows (girls first):

We also achieved 4th place in the boys Team event! Well done all, especially for participating in three events.
In the Under 13s, we had two girls and one boy:

Well done to all three.
in the U15 boys we managed to get a team each time, and thanks to Toby for leading that. The team placed 4th, so really well done, Here are the individual placings :

In the men's event, James Thomas won a Silver medal in the MV40 for his two fourths and one fifth results. Well done, James. In the MV65+ the results are incomplete but Dorian probably placed 6th.
That is nearly the end of the Gloucester League Cross-Country races for us. There's one more Oxfordshire league race, the date and venue is changing from the plan as Henley Showground is too wet. As soon as I have details of the replacement event, I will let everyone know.
