All (clocks) change

PS from last week – last week’s report omitted two half marathon runs - Jos Randall in Reading (she finished in the football stadium in 2.06.53) and Elysia Harrison in the hilly off-road Forest of Dean HM, where she finished well up the field in 1.40.18.

Road Racing

Club members were racing at two locations on Sunday, both with several distances to choose from.

In Gloucester, Keith Firkin was yet again in action, this time in a half marathon, just tucking under 1.40.

Over the 10km, Amanda Naylor was just 1 second slower than last year, finishing 2nd FV65 in 57.14

1 Callum Hanlon (Leamington) 1.07.42 (chip 1.07.41)

303 Keith Firkin (Cirencester AC) 1.40.40 (1.39.45)

1687 finished

1 Luke Carroll (Western Tempo) 34.35 (chip 34.30)

336 Amanda Naylor (Cirencester AC) 1.00.01 (57.14)

819 finished

Over the (county) border, Brecht Grieten managed to do a run this weekend after a long period of inactivity – the Calne 5k clock change challenge. He started on a 5k PB pace but had to slow down half-way through, lacking a bit of stamina after his recently expanded young kids duties. However, he still managed to bag a podium place – finishing 2nd in 17:40 so very pleased 😁

1 Matthew Waite (Calne RC) 16.55

2 Brecht Grieten (Cirencester AC) 17.40

151 finished

Over the longer 10k course, Gordon Jones and Barbara Thomas were also giving the club colours an outing.

1 Simon Nott (Calne RC) 31.29

109 Gordon Jones (Cirencester AC) 57.50

162 Barbara Thomas 1.07.49

188 finished

Parkruns

In Cirencester it was good to see another PB for Otis Forbes, whose dad Rob was coming back from an injury taking 3rd place in one of the faster runs this year.

Kate Kilby ran her fastest time this year at Stonehouse, with a whopping 88% age-graded score, whilst Andy Duff sandwiched his parkrun into a 15 miler.
