Up to Year 7 Training

All training takes place at Kingshill School. From the start of the summer term until October half term all sessions are outdoors on the track.

 

In winter, we have the use of the Kingshill School sports hall but try to go outside for the main session unless the weather is really bad.

 

We often split the group into two for the main session to better tailor the session to athletes of different abilities. Time trials are held approximately monthly to monitor progress.

All sessions are led by a qualified coach. Training sessions are structured as follows: 

  • Warm-up and drills

  • The main session - focussing on developing    speed, stamina, agility and technique

  • Relays or running games

  • Cool-down and stretching
