Three brave members of CAC took on the UK Ultra South Downs Way, this was a 100 mile trail race from Petersfield to Eastbourne. Andy Hindson, Karen Higuera and Jo Roberts all completed the event in around 30 hours which was very impressive. What an epic undertaking, well done to all!
Dave Musgrove was down in Cornwall racing in another ultra race, the Endurance Life Classic Quarter which goes from Lizard Point to Land’s End. This 44 mile trail race took Dave 8 hours and 20 mins, well done Dave!
Ann Sherrington was competing in the Cotswold aqualthlon this weekend. A few words from her........I did another LPS events Aquathlon on Saturday morning at Lake 62. The Aquathlon was longer than last week’s with a 750m swim (the swans kept an eye on us) and a 6k run around the lake. Swim time was 13.03 and run was 35.59 so an improvement from last week’s race. I was 1st out of 2 in my age group and 5 out of 7 women overall. The track was muddy and uneven after all the rain so my lesson learnt from before was to go for full trail shoes and normal (not elastic) laces. Transition may have been a bit slower as a consequence but it definitely helped my run. Great effort Ann!
Earlier in the week Carole Rayner was competing at the local Westonbirt 10k to finish in 49.24.
There were a few stalwart parkrunners out again this weekend, in Cirencester, Rachel Ranger, Gordon Jones, Tom Morgan, Brendan McCarthy, Pam Wheeler and Kirsty Leggate. Dave Moss was at Swindon Seven Fields.
