Rob Conquers Autumn 100

On Saturday Rob Forbes completed the Centurion Running Autumn 100 event, 100 miles of trail comprising a series of four out and back 25 mile spurs from Goring. The route covers sections of the Ridgeway and the Thames Path.


No stranger to long distances, Rob completed the race in a superb 14.38 and finished in 2nd place overall.

With half marathon season in full swing, club members were at Bath and Oxford this weekend.


In Bath, Mike Hobbs was delighted to run the distance inside 90 minutes after working his way back from a calf injury. He enjoyed the great weather and the atmosphere of the whole event. His excellent time meant he was 23rd of 442 in his MV50 age group.


Jake Yeo was also there and finished in a strong 1.53.


The race goes back to its usual March spot in the calendar next year.

In parkrun news, there were 5th place finishes for Ollie Campbell at Coventry and Ian Barrett at Worcester Pitchcroft. Ian’s run was age graded at 83%.


Alan and Rachel McAdam and Martin Croucher took on slightly cross country feeling parkruns at Tetbury and Stratford Park Stroud.


Locally at Cirencester, Simon Campbell was 4th, Wendy Nicholls was 1st lady with an 82% age grading. Gordon Jones continues his recovery from injury. Pam Wheeler continues her consistent run of form with a 76% age grade. Jo Musk ran with her son Brecon who was very close to his course PB.
