It was pretty quiet on the results front this week, which suited your editor nicely as he is writing from holiday Germany this weekend and next.
The only race we’re aware of was a triathlon, but a lot of you were out parkrunning.
Rich Allen’s “A” race this season was the Ironman triathlon which took place in Kalmar, Sweden on Saturday.
And he really did give it everything, producing a massive overall ironman PB by more than an hour, including a 100-mile bike ride PB (>23mph for almost 5 hours) and a 3:21 marathon.
His overall chip time was well under the significant 10-hour mark at 9:42.06, placing him 21/219 in his age and 116/1648 overall.
Rich says “Emptied myself but absolutely stoked with the result.” Some well-deserved R&R to follow hopefully – many congratulations on an excellent performance.

PARKRUNS
Club runners were parkrunning at over a dozen locations this weekend, from Singapore to Seaton as well as more usual locations like Stroud and Swindon.
Ollie Campbell was our only winner (Weston-super-mare, 18.33) but Ben Clarke also finished 2nd at Stroud and Ian Barrett 3rdin Westbury.
At Cirencester, Brendan McCarthy clocked his 150th parkrun, and Casey Vatcher his 25th, but biggest congratulations go to Rachel Ranger who just keeps getting faster.
After a course PB in June this year, Rachel was the 2nd lady home and set a new course PB knocking more than another 20 seconds off to register her 2nd fastest ever parkrun time, only 8s behind her fastest run more than 8 years ago in Swindon. Brilliant!
It was also great to see Kate Kilby running well again (she was the highest age graded runner of the day at 84%), and also Charles Woodd running for the first time at Cirencester.
David Wright is not a frequent parkrunner, but he was in great form at the Fordingbridge course that only opened last month, where he was the fastest age-graded man with his 20.28 equating, like Kate, to over 84%.
Congratulations also to newly V60 Jon Young for being first club member home.
