Nick achieves “Leader in Running Fitness” qualification during Covid Era

I am pleased to announce that Nick Wall has joined the team of Club coaches following his successful completion of England Athletics’ on-line “Leader in Running Fitness” (LiRF) course. He is first in the club to achieve this in the Covid era, doing what was a two-day face-to-face course, in a socially distanced way.

Nick said, “We did one of the first virtual coaching courses, some of it by Zoom (nope no-one was a cat...) and it worked well. I certainly learned a lot. Many thanks to Dorian and all for their support, particularly those who submitted to a video training session which was uploaded to EA for critiquing; they thought you six were great. Looking forward to sessions restarting again.”

Hopefully, it will not be long before you can have the benefit of being coached by Nick at a Club Session.

In the meantime, please consider trying the two weekly Virtual Club Sessions, so that you can be best prepared for a return to collective training and competitive races. The sessions are produced for you using a two-stage design-review process. I design the sessions and our most qualified coach, Mark Sysum, who has a Masters Degree in Sport, Exercise and Health Science, in addition to his coaching qualification, reviews them. That way the club ensures you have appropriate and safe sessions, taking into account the time of year and the range of running abilities within the Club.
