Juniors and Teens Membership

Hi all parents of Juniors and Teens Club members,

We are about to send out invoices for renewing membership of the Juniors and Teens groups. I thought it was time that we formalised what that membership entitles you to. So, what you get when you join?

  • Membership of club and affiliation to England Athletics (recommended/required). Cirencester is affiliated to England Athletics (EA).

  • Weekly Coached sessions

    1. designed by an EA Qualified Athletics Coach, as part of a suitable development programme

    2. delivered by the coach and competent helpers

    3. Monitored by two parent “safeguarders” (based on a volunteers' rota)

    4. Using suitable equipment for the children’s development

How many weeks:

  • During term time, at least 80% (4 weeks out of 5)

  • Free membership of “Summer Camps” sessions (2 pairs of two weeks, i.e. 4 weeks)

  • Half terms’ sessions (if numbers sufficient) – may be different to usual sessions, e.g. combined Juniors and Teens, or at different time

  • Sessions when Kingshill facilities not available, located elsewhere in Cirencester and may be at different times

  • Bespoke training plans for children to aid their athletic development outside of the weekly sessions, if requested by parent

  • Opportunities for older children to participate in the organisation and delivery of the sessions, e.g. as part of a Duke of Edinburgh activity

NB Cirencester AC does not support external charities but instead subsidises the cost of the Juniors and Teens such that financial status is not a constraint on participation.
