Date Night By Torchlight

A very short report this week.

Most of us might think of a trip to a nice restaurant or the cinema maybe for a date night destination. Not Gareth James. He decided that running 5 hilly miles through mud and water with the added feature of doing it all by the light of a head torch was a much nicer idea.

Gareth and his wife Jess, an RSE member, completed the Chepstow 5 Mile Night Race last week and had great fun.

12th January, Chepstow 5, 5 miles, trail

1 Amy Penn (Forest of Dean AC) 42.48

56 Gareth James (Cirencester AC) 1.03.21

123 finished

After some heavy rain fell on top of an already sodden course, Cirencester parkrun was sadly cancelled on Saturday.

Thankfully, other parkruns are available. Alex Banks took top spot at Wotton in his best time there.

Meanwhile, Jos Randall and Rachel and Alan McAdam all had fun sploshing out and back at Tetbury.

14th January, parkrun, 5k trail

Wotton parkrun

1 Alex Banks (Cirencester AC) 21.04

Tetbury Goods Shed parkrun

1 Harry Barnes (Unattached) 17.44

28 Alan McAdam (Cirencester AC) 25.29
